I am fuming. Some company has sold on my mobile number. I just had one of those recorded message phone calls. It said press 2 to speak too an advisor so I did, and asked them where they got my number from. She said 'marketing data, bye bye' and hung up on me.
How rude!

I assume they didn't ask for you by name - suspect it was a computer dialing randam mobile numbers - they wouldn't have know your number beforehand - now they know that it is a real person - I would ignore in future.
I would be surprised if anyone has sold on your number ...

why on earth did you press 2 ??
Do you honestly think they would listen to a single word you say?0 -
My daughter answered the phone to a 'junk' caller, who asked to speak to my husband. She asked what the call was in connection with and was told rudely that he couldn't discuss it with her. When she said her father was unavailable, he insisted that she bring him to the phone. She then explained that my husband had passed away in January, whereupon he said. "Why didn't you say so in the first place?" and promptly ended the call. I was fuming, to say the least, as my daughter was really distressed.0

I had a call recently asking to speak to 'Mr Ellay'...I asked who it was and they gave the name of some company and asked again if I could put him on the phone, I said he was unavailable but could they leave a message. They were insistent that they needed to speak to him and asked when he would be around. I asked again what it was about and they said they couldn't speak to me and that they were calling him in response to his request for some information. At that point I told them their customer service was pretty poor as it had taken them so long to get back to him considering he'd been left for over 8 years. Funny how they just hung up at that point!!0
