overdraft charge

Recently had a cheque cashed by someone over a month since I sent it. Hadn't realised so shifted excess cash from current account to e-savings. Didn't notice and went shopping, building up £95 of overdraft fees in 2 days, quickly shifted money back when realised.
Completely out of character and mortified to waste money on fees. Any ideas if I can claim it back or how to argue against it?

Nationwide. Never had problems with them til now0

If you've not been let off charges before I would contact Nationwide and ask politely for them to set aside the charges as an act of goodwill. Banks usually do that once. Also try to arrange a modest overdraft on the account. Arranging the overdraft is free and if you had had one in place you would only have paid a small amount of interest.0

Thanks Apt. They've let me off this time. Had an arranged overdraft of £50 but wasn't enough so will extend it in the future, straight away looks a bit dodgy. Set up text alerts now too to help me keep an eye on things 0 -
