Bank Account for Expat/Foreign spend

Hi, I'm an expat working in the Netherlands and currently have a CA with Nationwide. They have recently introduced charges to all foreign/currency cash withdrawals and purchases.
I am still employed by the UK, so have my salary paid into my UK bank account. My employer is unable to pay into my foreign account for some reason (I also have DD's and payment to make to UK accounts so having my full salary paid into a foreign account won't work either)
Can anyone recommend a different UK bank account without any charges; or was Nationwide the last of the banks to introduce this?
Thanks,
H

For current accounts look at:
Norwich and Peterborough Building Society
Metro Bank

It's due to the NL using Euros and the UK using pounds.
Your employer will be charged extra for every transaction they make to your foreign bank account. It's one of the ways banks make money on foreign transactions.
You may also be charged for receiving the transaction.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Do you know if Norwich and Peterborough accept members UK-wide? I couldn't find any info about this on their site. Cumberland BS offer free forex too, but restrict membership to their branch area.
On similar lines, it's worth noting that Metro bank accounts currently have to be opened in person at one of their London branches, although they don't care where you actually live and the account can subsequently be operated on-line.0 -
