Hi everyone, I purchased a Next kettle/toaster set about a year ago and the filter is broken in the kettle. I have contacted Next who can be of no help with a replacement at all and as its a Next kettle and not a proper make I have been unable to find a replacement filter, any suggestions most welcome - merry christmas to all x :j

Kettles work perfectly well without filters. Don't worry about it,you will not be poisoned without one.I can afford anything that I want.

The first thing I did with our current kettle was remove the filter and throw it away.
We have an inline filter on the drinking water tap anyway and a kettle filter just gets in the way.0 -
Every kettle I've had the filter is the first thing that goes. Braun and Breville don't do replacement filters, so whatever make you get I think your only options are to live without or buy a new kettle.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Actually, I would quite like to know exactly what a kettle filter is supposed to filter out. I'm over 70 and I have never seen anything other than water come out of any tap, in any house, that I've lived in. I think that Portsmouth Water Co. do a pretty good job.I can afford anything that I want.

We have exceptionally hard water and I find the filter handy to keep the copious limescale from spoiling my coffee. (andrew-b above types faster than me!)
I recently poked a finger through the filter on my 10-month-old Breville kettle while removing it - I emailed Meyer customer services (Breville parent company) and they sent me a free replacement filter within a week. The kettle is nothing special - £15 - but when it goes bang as it will sooner or later, I might consider another one similar.
(No affiliation with Meyer/Breville, just impressed with good customer service in this day and age). Shame they didn't make the filters more robust to start with - the drawback will most budget electrical items I guess.0 -
Citric acid will descale a kettle. It's quite safe and used for descaling baby sterilising kit, and is an ingredient in home made lemonade..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

If the filter is just to stop lime particles that have formed in the kettle from falling into your cup or tea pot, then the answer is to not tip the kettle up so far that the particles fall out. Oh!. I've just spotted that andrew has made the same point.I can afford anything that I want.
