Ordered something from America on the 9th December, paying the same day.

Never ordered anything from the States before so was wondering how long they usually take, taking into account the bad weather and Cmas rush? I know I have no hope of getting it for Cmas, which is my own fault for leaving it late.

Unless you specified a courier delivery chances are the sender used USPS (US postal service), I'm afraid they're not renowned for their speed. I've recently received a packet from the US that took approx 18 days.

You also need to check that your local postman hasn't delivered a grey card to you. It's similar to a red 'cannot deliver card' but means there is a fee / duty to be paid and you need to either go to your local sorting office or pay online before the item can be delivered.

I find US post in both directions to often be quite slow typically a couple of weeks. It will be slower at this time of year and there could also be a further delay if you have customs charges and VAT to pay.
