Yesterday I had a couple of guys from Scottish Power call at my door they were in uniform and showed me ID without me having to ask for it. They were claiming they could cut my bills as I am currently with British Gas, they started filling out forms and got my name and address and E-mail but I refused to give them any bank details or tell them how much I was currently paying. I asked if they would leave me the form and if I decided to take the offer up I would send it to them and they refused saying they could not leave me the form but would call back later to see if I had changed my mind. They never called back. Does this sound like a scam and should I be worried about this?

Ring British Gas and tell them you are not switching atm.
While you are on you could enquire about a cheaper tariff.
If the scammers also have your meter point reference numbers they may have instigated the switch. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
