I registered with Campbell's Soup's website, and occasionaly they email me with recipes. Ive tried quite a few, simple and easy to do and reasonable aswell.
Our favorite is a mushroom & chicken (diced breast) (1 would be enough for you and OH) cooked together, for about 10 mins, add a tin (400g) of condensed Campbells mushroom soup (add a little water, leave to simmer for about 20 mins, serve with pasta or french bread. Try adding garlic also (about 2 cloves)......Kids love it.
Thats just a taster of what they offer...worth a tryHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Corned beef hash with beans is a quick, cheap and easy favourite for me and hubby. Or sometimes we have a healthy fry up, grilled sausages and/or bacon, beans, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and some toast on the side.0

Can he not take a turn in cooking??
Bangers, mash and beans with onion gravy?
I love making gravy! Even though I am veggie so don't eat it!
My ex MIL taught me and it is dead easy and them lot tell me it tastes great too.If you want onion gravy, chop and fry onion before adding...
Use the fat/juices from the meat you have cooked and put it on a low heat, add some cornflour and mix like mad until you have a smooth paste-then add the water from the veg bit by bit stirring constantly, then add some red wine or cider (if you want) or browning if you like dark gravy add some salt and pepper, reduce for a little while and then serve. My gravy always turns out this way and has a great gloss to it-which is how it supposed to be apparently!
I also make souffle omelettes first turn your grill up to high-beat the eggs and milk together vigourously and try to get as much air in as you can-cook as a normal omelette, then bang it under the hot grill for a few mins.At this stage you can add filling then bang it under the grill again-you end up with lovely light fluffy omelettes-dead easy, dead cheap!
Good luck!!Fabi x0 -

Why not go to the library and check out a load of straightforward-looking cookery books? Once you have followed a few recipes you will begin to get an idea of how things are done. You might find with a recipe that you haven't got a particular ingredient, & substitute something similar - then the recipe becomes your own!
A really up-to-date recipe book I would recommend is the River Cottage Family Cookbook, by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. It is a little unconventional in the way it sets out the recipes, but explains about all the ingredients & what to do with them, it doesn't assume that you know it all already.
I bought a copy, thought it was brilliant - but didn't get a chance to do anything from it as my DD has somehow persuaded it into her house!!!0 -
The below link will take you to the index where you'll find some great recipes and tons of advice. Here's a few of the recipe's I've tried out recently. I'm quite new to cooking from scratch and can't do much without a recipe for fear of it all going wrong.

Can I just add for those making cheese/ white sauce
If you heat the milk before adding it to the roux (sp), there is far less chance of it going lumpy

chicken & chick pea balti
chicken breasts or turkey ( cheaper) cut into bite size squares
tin value chopped toms
tin chickpeas drained
one onion chopped
pepper chopped
2 small potato peeled & chopped into bitesize pieces
2 tablespoons balti paste ( get this in any spuermarket)
one pouch passata
large handful frozen peas
one courgette chopped
loads of mushrooms - half punnet more if you fancy. sliced.
Take baltipaste and heat in a large saucepan on a lowish heat ( i use electric 4)
then addchopped onions & stir round with wooden spoon
after about 5 mins add mushrooms, peppers, courgette, stir round for a few mins
Ad tinned toms & passata
Add chicken/turkey pieces stir round for 5 mins
Add drained chick peas & stir
Add peas & stir
reduce heat to 2-3 and put lid on, stir now & again to make sure meat doesnt stick
In seperate smallish pan boil water & boil potatoes for about 10 mins. If they look like they are crumbling earlier, take off the heat - drain in colander then add to big pan.
Simmer until everythings cooked - about 30 mins & serve with rice. ( which I wont tell you how to cook properly , im still learning! ) Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
