Frogling, where are your little girls learning it? My 8year old wants to learn and was wondering what is good for young learners?
Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Hi Helen, we are fortunate enough to have a place in Cheltenham that teaches both Spanish and French, from pre-school age upwards. My girls love it! They also have some of the Muzzy DVD's, but tbh I didn't find those as good as I thought they were going to be.helen81 wrote:Frogling, where are your little girls learning it? I've been using the MT cd's for less than a year and my French has come on tremendously - better than going to a class for me.
However, the MT 8 cd set was free in one of the papers - Daily Mail/Daily Express - a few months ago. I wonder if they're reducing it because they know another offer is in the offing? Not likely I think but you never know. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
Anybody know if you can get a Dutch one in the MT range?
Play and Amazon don't seem to have it anyway.0 -

I am fairly sure that you cannot, probably for the simple reason that MT couldn't speak Dutch!0 -
my parents rented out the french CD's from the library and even bought an iPod so they could listen to his lessons whilst at work.
They seem to have learnt quite alot from it.
I've only heard good reviews about the CD's0 -
Hi

I know for sure he does French, German, Italian and Spanish. I don't recall ever seeing any others.
His method is definitely the best way to learn languages, whether refreshing a language learnt at school or picking up a new one. I just wish I'd listen to my tapes at least a week before a trip rather than remembering with only an hour or so spare - I've listened to the first tape of all of them several times!!0 -
The Michel Thomas CDs are great!
Yes, they do rip to MP3s just fine - I found this when I rented them from the library (cost=about £2).0 -
If you have a Costco card, you can get foundation and advanced French, German and Spanish for £23.50 each. I used the foundation Spanish CDs before I went on holiday, and found them very useful in making myself understood in a basic manner in shops and restaurants.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0
