I'm a tenant planning on leaving my current property. Does my notice to vacate need to be typed, or is it acceptable to hand write it?

As long as it's legible, clear, gives the correct information and is served at the correct time, I doubt it matters how it's produced.
However, if you do write it by hand, be sure to use a new quill - only kidding ;-)0 -
Oh, and it must be signed!0

And better still, get proof of sending.0

And make sure the LL receives it on or before the required date so the notice period is correct. If you are a day late you may be liable for an extra months rent.0

Thanks for the responses. LL lives downstairs so I can hand it to him personally.0

Ok, well write the letter with his name to saying he has received it. Then ask him to sign and keep a copy.0
