Casio wavefinder watch

Does anyone have one of these - I've had one for a few months and today the hands have gone into the 12 o'clock position and nothing I do to it will make them move.

Not sure if the watch is broken or if I am missing something obvious.

The weather can't affect the signal, can it?

Do you know which transmitter it gets the signal from?
My radio controlled clock which uses the one in Germany is still working OK if that helps.

It says it's either the one in Germany or the one in Cumbria.
  • Do you mean Wave ceptor?

I have one of these, and it's working fine.

However, I had an issue with it when I first got it, where everthing was mis-alligned, clock was 10 mins slow, date didn't display properly, etc...

I took it back to the store, and they reset the "home positions". The home position is where all the hands point upwards, i.e. to 12 o'clock. Could your watch be stuck in this home position? I think there's something in the instruction manual about "home positions", which might help you. Have you tried pressing any of the buttons?
  • Do you have the manual?

    If not, try here: http://waveceptor.casio.com/support/manual/
  • Press A to enter the UTC settings, and hold it down until it finds all three [ UTC +1 / UTC +2 / UTC +3 ] setting values
Press C to select any one of the three
    Press A to exit

The AutoReceive function is defaulted to ON, I wonder if you have switched the default to OFF ?? - is the RC showing RC/on or RC/off ?

I do have the manual, but nothing works - none of the buttons seem to do anything. I think I will have to ring Casio tomorrow.

I'll make the stupid suggestion .. .. .. try leaving it for 12 hours under a table lamp permanently on, what happens ?

Sound to me like the battery is goosed / unable to hold a full or maybe even a part charge, in which case your right its Casio

It's worth a try, I will leave it under a lamp tomorrow when I'm at work.

I know this is not really of any use but, if I remember right the hands do go to the 12 o'clock position when you are perfroming some operations, changing time zone - they obviously should move back to the correct time at the end!

Low battery issue sounds plausible to me

Tried this, it worked! Only left it there for about two hours though :)

    Many thanks.
