Thermostat Temp

Can you add insulation/draft proofing? Our bay window curtains stay shut 24/7 in this weather. I have curtains up at all outside doors and thermostat set to give a temp of 18 degrees in the open plan living room/hall. The radiators in the bedrooms are turned off, as other wise the rooms get too hot. This temp is fine for day to day 'pottering' around the house, but when we settle down in the evening to watch telly, we snuggle down under one of those blankets with sleeves, and I'll probably have a hot water bottle or microwave wheat bag to cuddle/rest my feet on.Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Therefore, if the hall rad is on, it'll take the heat and the lounge will be cold. If we want heat in the lounge, we have to turn the rad in the hall down a bit, then less water goes to there and instead can go to the lounge...
Follow the pipes from the boiler, and see if there is a T split through the wall into the lounge, if there is then you have to turn the hall rad down, if you want a warmer lounge...0 -
Easy test, set it to 18 for a week, if thats ok and you don't feel desperately uncomfortable set it to 17 for the next week, then 16.... when its as low as you can reasonably bear it stop
...also stop if you hit the minimum stipulated by your insurance company to stop pipes freezing0
