Commercial Banks would just lend potential BTL's the money0 -

And for many it works out more cost effective in the short term.
In your idealist world, where would a business person live on a short basis if they came to the UK to work, a hotel?
You also say that profit in business is ok, what about Tesco and the like making Billions for the shareholders at the consumers expense, do you expect Tesco to run at a zero % margin?
You do yourself no favours only posting parts of my post...You'd do well as a spin doctor;)
I'm off to bed as I have an early start, same time tomorrow?:D0 -
But who should supply the shelter? I worked for mine so why should people with no input in to the system should receive the most from the system?I'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0

Nope its tough luck but I do my bit to help, if people stopped having an obscene amount of children then it may lighten the load on the system if parents looked after their own children instead of kicking them out in to the streets then it may help, if the death penalty was bought in for drug dealers, child molesters and benefit cheats then the situation would get better.
I suppose if I ever met you then you personal hygiene would disgust me as well ;o))))))0 -
I lived in a system were everyone was equal, the dustman lived in the same sized flat as the surgeon and earn't roughly the same amount but if you wanted medicine or a decent operation then you had to pay a backhander for it or know "someone" that could help or arrange it as your life depended on it.
We now live in a capitalist systems and it will get to survival of the fittest or earners, gas and electricity will go up in price the same as rail fares, petrol, food what is happening in Africa will happen in the UK it may take 50 or 200 years but it will happen.0 -

You've got this bit nearly right.
I hadn't considered the social implications until now.
I've now considered them. Here are the results:
If I'm annoying "people" like you (and your type) by renting out a house, I'd say any negative impact on the wider population is more than made up for by the enjoyment your annoyance provides me and a few others.
