Windows XP Did Not Start Successfully problem

    Thanks to both of you. Hopefully I will get hold of an XP CD to be able to run the chkdsk /r command from the Recovery Console - fingers crossed. Failing that, I may just have to visit the local for a few swift pints of inspriation!!

    I did get hold of an XP CD. Chkdsk has been run and it looks (fingers crossed) as if I am back up and running. Thanks everyone for your replies.
