Hi Can anyone suggest what i need to do to be able to allow McAfee security to download onto my pc. It comes free with my bthomehub and broadband. Ive successfully done it one one pc but its as though some setting on my other pc is preventing itfrom downloading but there are no suggestions what to do about it. I got as far as uninstalling avg which i had to do but cant get any further. Now i have no security on it:mad: Thank you.

Hi i clicked on your link and i think it had already been uninstalled anyway as no sign of it in control panel however it still doesn t work. Could it be a security setting i need to change and if so how or should i just forget about it and install avast Thanks again0 -
Why don;t you ditch Mcafee and go wiith one of the more reliable / free anti virus products.... Avira, Avast or MSE ?0

I'd avoid with McAfee and stick with what you've got, I personally wouldn't install McAfee even if they paid me.There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -
the other problem you are likely to be finding is that the free macrappy that comes with BT will probably only be a one license copy, therefore you wouldnt be able to install it on another computer
this being said as the others have pointed out as well i would personally get rid of it and just pop Avast on both,Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
On the advice of people of here I stopped using my free with BT McAffee and am using the free Microsoft Security Essentials and Malewarebytes. My computer now runs much faster.0

If you're going to choose Microsoft Security Essentials then I suggest you go for the version 2 download...
Unusually the general view with getting McAfee free is that it is worth less than what you paid for it!0 -
The point of running the Removal Tool is that things like AVG, macafee and norton leave behind bits that aren't readily seen in Contol Panel, but WILL have a detrimental effect on how your system runs.
RUN IT !!!
And don't bother with microsoft security essentials, it's a resource hog and it's detection rates have suffered of late - go with avast or avira (but not neccessarily in that order

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
