Can you claim childcare vouchers if you don't have children?

I believe that you have to have a child, but that child doesn't (yet) have to be in child-care. So if I were you I'd wait until the child was born and then start stacking up the vouchers for when you need them.
In my works scheme you cant stack them up - you have to nominate your childcare provider and they have to sign a form and provide their reference number and they are paid on a monthly basis directly to the care provider....Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -

I asked this question of my voucher provider and got told no in no uncertain terms.
For those saying you don't have a child so you don't need them, it's annoying because my first child is due in a couple of months so I will definitely need the vouchers. I don't have a date of birth but I've got a photo of it if that helps!
It's missing out by such a short amount of time that irritates. It's not often you get the chance to save a bit of tax money.0 -
You do need a child to be able to apply for childcare vouchers, however, your child doesn't need to be in a nursery. I have just registered through my company and have a 8 week old baby, I'm putting away the maximum amount to build up a fund before the tax changes and simply will select the nursery that I want the money to go to once he is ready to go.0
