Replace Gas Fire With Real Fire or Log Burner

Hi
We are looking to get rid of our existing gas fir and replace it with either a real fire or a log burner type thingy!
Any advice on what work this will involve, experiences of said work and an idea of what we might expect to pay would be greatly appreciated

we are currently doing the same thing.
do you have a chimney? fireplace etc? We have had a couple of fireplace and chimney people in to look at it so perhaps if you let me know what you currently have i can advise
