Burst water pipe at the unit I sub-let!

Not sure if this is in the right place, but I hope someone can help me.
A water pipe has burst at the unit which I sub-let and has leaked approx 2" of water across the entire space. A lot of my equipment had been damaged but none most of it isn't electrical so I'm hoping it can dry out.
The water is on a meter and no one has been at the unit for about a week so theres no real way of knowing how much water has actually leaked as it has appeared to have run out of the roller shutter. So what I was wondering is, does the unit owners building insurance (or similar) cover this type of incident?
And as I sub-let off a guy who is actually letting off the unit owner, where do I stand and what am I actually liable for?
Thanks in advance guys.

Whoever pays the water bill will be liable (if it's metered) unless there is insurance cover in place for loss of metered water.0
