£72/year to insure a phone and some gadgets? Yikes!
All the Barclaycard insurance products are overpriced IMHO. Almost certainly cheaper to add cover via your home insurance.0 -
Looks to be one of the better packages around.

Includes a CreditExpert style service as well as the insurances, so not bad value really.

Looks like a good deal to me even after reading the small print. For the price of two beers a month, you get phone cover £350, Gadgets £500, unexpected life cover, card stop plus and access to experion credit reports. not sure there's anything better in the market place at the mo0

But you won't want to be making many claims on your home insurance will you? Too much risk of being declined the essential cover you need.
I find that when it comes to small electrical gadgets its worth my (note MY, not necessarily your) while taking out shop insurance like Argos offer because small electronics tend to meet with an early death in my household - meaning I have made a lot of claims in 2010. Double figures. Would you want to make 5 let alone 10 claims on your contents insurance?0 -
To each his own. If you're the type who loses/breaks stuff on a regular basis then this insurance may be a good deal. I prefer to look after my stuff and not give money to the insurance companies.
To the OP - Barclaycard sent me a brochure for their "Prestige" product and it struck me as poor value. Cheaper to pick out the bits you need and buy them separately.0 -
How much is CreditExpert these days?
Surely those who want and pay for that would be better off taking this and getting the insurances as a bonus?
