Help sought re: New current account - bad history

Hi folks

I don't know if anyone who can help me here, so any info is greatly received.

I have just got myself a new job which will net me around 1.3K per month, unfortunately I have a very poor record with both banks and other bad debts, and I do not currently have an account as my last job paid cash. I am paying Lloyds back my overdraft after they closed my account and have also had an account closed by NatWest previously.

I need an account where I can be paid into and then use the funds to pay off a variety of debts. I don't need anything fancy, just somewhere that will allow me to pay in a good salary and help get me straight. Can anyone advise me on where to start??

Thanks in Advance

Consider opening a 'basic bank account' with a institution you haven't had any problems with - as you have had problems in the past this would be a good place to start.

The FSA publish a leaflet giving further details and a list of providers.
