delivery address

twice in the last few months sellers have posted items to my home address and not my paypal delivery address .
The latest item arrived yesterday and I now have to pay parcel force to redeliver .I am not a happy chappie .The seller has agreed to refund the redelivery cost but thats not really the point .

Is there any way I can block a seller seeing my home address .

Sellers do not seem to realise they are NOT protected by paypal if they do this .

IMHO that isn't true any more. Wouldn't it be easier to update your account info to match - as a seller it's always a PITA when buyers have ambiguous info.

Why have you got two addresses on then?
  • More often than not, when an address is changed midway through payment, ie after checkout but before Paypal, then the Ebay record has the buyers last verified address on. This is then what the seller has, along with a Paypal email with another address on.

Because you have to use your HOME address to register on ebay, but can register several addresses with Paypal to have things delivered to.

A seller must always send to the PAYPAL address.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • ebay regulations state that any purchases must be sent to the address given on the ebay order page. ie. your ebay registered address and NOT you paypal address.

Ebay can state what they like. But the payment is made to PAYPAL, so in order to have SELLER protection, you MUST ship to the Paypal address.

If you don't want seller protection, send it wherever you like.
  • Can't you put a note in, or message the seller when you buy items and bring up the address issue, making sure that they know to post to the address that you want.

In theory you should check the PP address if you want seller protection from them. However in reality, with volume transactions it is not possible, we have software to highlight differences in the addresses, but that too causes problems where a buyer puts AB1 2CD in Ebay and ab1 2cd in paypal! It's time consuming but for anything over £41 you may want more protection than a Royal Mail CoP.

The software I use takes the invoice and address details from Paypal, and prints to paper from a company called integrated labels which has the address label incorporated in the bottom of the page.

Now all I need is the volume sales.:D
