  • Thanks guys.

I agree with all that but I think you missed my question...

If I do decide to Internet order after Christmas what sort of savings am I likely to get?

Thanks for your kind help guys.
  • I always buy mine from John Greed or Argento (cashback with Quidco), while my Dad buys them for me from a little shop in Ipswich - I dont think there is much of a price difference.

There are a couple of genuine sellers on ebay that have them with a few pounds off, but they dont always have a full range and you have to be very careful of fakes.

I've spent ages looking online for both Pandora and Troll (the original Scandinavian company who started doing this kind of design and which are IMHO better than Pandora). The only way I've found to get any discounts is to bid for something on ebay and of course that way you risk them being fakes.

I think maybe both the Pandora and Troll companies only sell through their own shops or through high end jewellers to try and make sure the retailers they sell to do not offer discounts. Thus the value of what are essentially marketed to be collectors items are kept artificially high.

I know you say you want genuine Pandora beads but I supplement my Troll beads with beads from a company called Cookson Gold Google the name for details). They supply traders but also sell to general public. They have some beautiful bracelets and charms for a fraction of the price charged by Pandora. They calculate prices on weight of silver. They charge £2-£3 for delivery but the savings on just one bead more than covers that. They also do next day DHL delivery for £5 something and I paid this a couple of days ago and it came the next day as promised. You can get a beautiful Pandora style bracelet from them for under £20!

  • Like other posters have said the only way to make sure you get a genuine pandora bead cheaper is to bid on ebay, making sure you check feedback etc to make sure they deal in genuine beads. Before they became hugely popular (bout 3 years ago) a small jewellers in our town centre were selling them for a couple of pounds cheaper for a bead and about £5 cheaper for a bracelet and they were warned by pandora if they didnt put the prices up they would not let them sell them so the chances of finding them cheap is pretty slim.

Bluewater in Dartford always has a huge queue too, I cant understand why either. I have got some lovely beads from ebay, Argos, and Silverleaf, after all who is really going to know that you have only paid a few pounds rather than 100's?
  • Thanks guys.

Do the other brands of bracelets have good quality clasps on them and do the have the ability to out clips on them to stop the beads from gathering by the fastener?

I know Pandora seem to have all of the above but what other brands do similar or the same?

    Thanks
  • Also what are Argos ones like? Are they hugely inferior quality but a snip of the cost?

I like the hot diamonds bracelet and charms. If you spend over £60, they give you the bracelet for free. Delivery is next day, and free. And there's like 12% quidco or something. Overall, a pretty good deal. Hot diamonds stuff isn't cheap, and I think the quality is great!

  • I went into one of the Pandora stockists today for a new bracelet and the shop assistant said beads are going up a few pounds each. Example she gave was £25 beads will be £30. I thought that was a bit steep for the VAT increase but she said its Pandora themselves increasing them, not just the higher VAT

Hope not, thats a 20% jump:eek: It will take me even longer to fill my bracelet.
