I dont know if Im going mad?! but I thought I saw on here a rather scrummy sounding recipe for a sausage and bean caserole, which I think was done in the slow cooker? But I cant find it now, anyone else heard of it?! lol
Also does anyone have a recipe for an EASY HM chicken pie at all??
Many thanks

I dont know where the sausage casserole is but my HM chicken pie goes like this
take leftover chicken from a roast, or some chicken breasts cooked ( depends on the mount of people)
peppers
mushrooms
onions
flour
marg/ butter
plain flour
black pepper
courgette
pasty ( either HM or packet) I personally use Farmfoods frozen puff pastry
OK , so
Make a white sauce by
Taking a large heaped tablespponish amount of butter/marg and melt over a low heat in a large suacepan
when its fluid add spoonfulls of plain flour and stir till its one big clump
maintaining the low heat slowly add milk and whisk, till you have a sauce like consistency.
Add chopped onions, sliced mushrooms, sliced/chopped pepppers & courgette , and cover and cook on low heat stirring periodically add black pepper to taste
if its looking too claggy add more milk and keep stirring
then roll out your frozen pastry ( defrosted of course)and with a knife score a large rectangle in the pasrty - but dont cut through. Then place this on a baking tray & bake for about 20 mins (or as per the packet) or on 200 ish
then while this is in, cut chicken into small pieces and add to the mix in the pan
when the pastry is done, pull it out of the oven and very carefully lift the rectangle out. thats your lid
Take a perforated spoon and transfer the contents of the pan into the shell. Take care not to allow too muc h sauce into the shell as this will make it collapse a bit.
replace lid & bake for about 5 more mins
Take it out and serve - I usually serve with roast potoaoes:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
