Mcafee Security Plus

Hello techies, I have Kaspersky IS on my PC. However is it worth having mcafee security scanner as well? I'd appreciate any opinions.

You should only have 1 antivirus, as they will slow each other down or crash.

Apparently, this is not an antivirus or internet security; it's some software that scans your PC and reports any malware, trojans etc. It's supposed to work along side any internet security without any risk of conflicts.

All it does is scan your computer and report if it has an antivirus and firewall installed or not. Windows does the same thing built-in, and you already know you have an antivirus and firewall as part of your Kaspersky Internet Security suite. It's pointless for you, and I wouldn't let anything from McAfee anywhere near my computer. Avoid.

If it's paid for then give it a miss and install the superior Avast instead/

  • honestly you could easily go for years with zero internet security and be fine. If you want good security then get eset NOD32 :)

My sentiments exactly, but it's nice to have someone else's opinions. I was given the option to install mcafee scanner when I downloaded adobe reader. As it was recommended by adobe, I was tempted, but as I'm not keen on mcafee, I rejected it. Thank you to all for your opinions.
