ASDA sold out of date nut mix

I just came home after shopping from asda. I couldnt resist the caramlised nuts that i had bought and opened the pack and ate a few to realise that it was tasting old and not so good. When I looked at the best before date, it is 3rd nov 2010 (more than a month and a half old).

Will asda refund an opened item as it is out of date? Should I make a written complaint or report to trading standards?

Cheers
Vikram

Who can I report the OP to for the mental anguish I've suffered in thinking I'd missed a whole year of my life!

My local Asda have gotten quite bad for selling out of date food! I bought some toffee muffins last week, my DH complained that they tasted a little dry, when I checked the date, they were out of date 3 days before I even bought them!!

I didn't take them back, I'd binned my receipt, but I am very careful at checking dates now. There were some crumpets on the shelf on Friday that had gone out of date on the Wednesday, I told a member of staff at the checkout, I wouldn't be to concerned unless it was chicken that was being sold out of date.
