EDF Customer
Hi All
i have been a edf customer for many years now, basically, i have been on a pre pay meter now for over a year, its proving very costly it seems.
We have a 1 bed flat and at present are spending about £50 per week on the meter, i think this is excessive.£7 per week goes to outstanding monies owed. But i still think this is alot to run a modest 1 bed flat and we are out 5 days a week till seven working.
We have economy 7 heating.
Does anyone have any tips, im getting the hump with this.
Cheers
Dale

Well if you are out all day then E7 heating is useless as by the time you get home at 7 the heat will be running low. I'd turn them off on the weekdays you are at work and just use them on weekends. Use electric convectors for a few hours each evening instead and a bit in the morning. £43 per week is a little over average for a 1 bed flat for December but it's probably because of the tariff you are on. Is it possible to raise the funds by borrowing money from somewhere to pay the outstanding bill and switch to a cheaper provider? I think you will save more than the interest that it will cost you by borrowing money. How much is outstanding?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0
