Is it legal for a retailer to charge 50p for every card transaction weth oer local shop does this it just seems excesive

Yes its legal. My local newsagent also charges 50p to use a debit/credit card, so I always use cash if I have to go there, or I go somewhere that doesnt chargeDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

they are normaly charged about 35p and 3% for transactions0
