I assume though, that the efforts that the OP made initially meant that her gas supply number couldn't be located - therefore she wouldn't have been able to change supplier - only an assumption until OP gives more detail.

Really your comments should be addressed in one of Martin's 'moral maze' articles.

Whilst your views on 'what this site is about' are shared by many, there are whole threads in the bankruptcy section with advice on how to arrange bankruptcy to the petioner's advantage and such that those they owe suffer the maximum disadvantage.

Similarly advice on how benefit claims can be maximised by dubious practices.
