Hi
Ive only recently been with EBAY and have bought a few things and sold a couple. The other day i bid for an item and was just about to pay but as i thought id got an absolute deal i searched the users id and it turned out they where part of a massive scam - potentially tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Now whilst i didnt actually get scammed i very almost was.
What percentage of sellers are dodgy? Have i just been unlucky so far into my "EBAY time?"

Unlucky... don't give up, but do learn how to avoid getting ripped off.
- If it looks too good to be true, IT IS!
- Watch out for sellers with low feedback selling expensive items
- Watch out for sellers who have suddenly started selling high price electronics or other expensive goods completely uncharacteristic of their selling history; it can indicate a hijacked account. Another warning sign is listings that include an email address, telling you not to use Ask Seller a Question.
- Pay with paypal funded by a credit card for better protection
- Avoid auctions with dubious terms and conditions. Always read listings carefully!
- Always check sellers' feedback. Frequent negs and neutrals are obvious warning signs, but look out for a lot of withdrawn feedback too.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
