Windscreen wipers not working

I stupidly knocked my windscreen wipers on the other day while they were covered in ice. There was a loud clunk and now they're not working at all, not even slightly. Any ideas how much it's going to cost me to get them fixed?

is it a vauxhall
they have a stupid arm inside on alittle ball joint thats always popping off might just clip on unless something else has snapped0 -
Well it depends massively on the make/model of car.
You've probably broken the wiper linkage which can either be easy to repair, or could require the removal of body/engine parts to gain access

It's a Nissan Primera 03 model. Will phone the garage later. So annoying as I would never have put them on on purpose in this weather!0

Yeah, best to save them for the better weather.:rotfl:0 -
Try lifting the plastic/metal spindle covers and tightening up the bolts. The man without a signature.0

Happens on my Proton a lot- the metal pivot can't cope in cold weather (wipers don't even have to be on for it to pop!) Usually takes around ten minutes to pop the nipple back over the spindle.0

Always manually unstick your wipers in cold/frosty conditions folks, it takes less that 60 seconds!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Use water straight out of a freshly boiled kettle and do it in 10!0 -
that way works really well as sometimes it removes the windscreen and the wipers have nothig to stick to
