I've tried increasing the timeout period but its made no difference, I've not changed anything else, everything is still configured correctly at both ends.Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo account. No its just a standard UK account, and has been for years. I'd probabaly been mucking about by the time I posted that error message:embarasse. Sorry.
I've changed it back to .co.uk
No difference though, I submitted a help request to yahooo yesterday too, as I struggle to see how it can be a problem at my end giving its stopped working on too computers at once, so I'll see if they get back to me.
Any help is very much appreciated though, as are any more suggestions

Thanks, yeah I can log in, been finding out how much I hate the webmail interface, lol.
I've tried disabling POP, re-enabling POP.
I've deleted the emails around the last one that downloaded to wlm, still the same error message.0 -
Thank you, guess I'll have to hope I get a reply from Yahoo technical assistance, haha
What chance do I have as a non paying customer
Thank you for trying to help0 -
This is beginning to make me mad
I found if I set up a new account it downloaded all the messages including the most recent ones.
SO I backed up my messages, deleted the account on windows live mail, set up a new one and spent the afternoon letting it download all 34000+ messages.
I thought great at least its working
BUt guess what, I'm back to getting the same error message, I just don't understand0 -
Thanks, yeah I've tried the alternative ports
I've also tried totally disabling Avast.
I'm totally at a loss and I really don't know where the issue lies,
I can't see how it can be a local problem, because It's happening on both computers, and I've reinstalled Windows Live Mail with no success, plus trying just about everything else under the sun.
But then how can it be a server problem, if I can create a new account on WLM and it will connect to the server initially and download everything.0
