I live with a grumpy and tired security officer. Honestly the money is poo, the hours are crazy and since he's worked there he's developed more grey hairs than his father.0

My friend is a security guard in an A & E department. He works 4 nights on then 4 nights off. (Its classed as part time and paid weekly) His take home pay last year after tax/NI & private pension contributions was £19,600. He loves his job, it it different every night, and usually pretty interesting. He previously worked at a supermarket security which bored the pants off him. If the job centre are going to pay for the course i would say go for it. There are lots of other jobs you can do with it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if you use it to get a little extra cash occasionally. My friend actually earned £150 the other night working the door at a 'silent disco' everyone in the place was wearing headphones & dancing etc. Pretty weird to work, no trouble at all but that sort of money cash in hand private function he wasnt going to turn it down a week before christmas.Grocery Challenge - Jan £4.42/£200.00
Up my income - £124.00/ £11,000.0
