Gas Disconnected by Enterprise due to gas works, frozen water pipes
Options
Hi All,
as i away from home with work a lot at the moment, I have come across the problem with my house. Earlier this week, Enterprise disconnected my gas to replace the mains down the street. Unfortunately I was not in on the day to get it reconnected, and took the day off on Friday to be in to get it reconnected. However, they failed to turn up (well they claimed to have tried 10mins before the end of their shift (6.50pm), and left an invisible note through the door, despite me sittting in silence 2m from the door! They also claimed there was no point of turning up as they knew the guy to do the internal safety checks had gone home anyway.).
Despite me telling them releatedly (as I did not want no heating) I was away until wednesday they turned up Saturday at 3pm.
Their local guy was in contact much fo the day (as he was expecting to do the after connection safety check), and he called up numerous times, and I called several times also to no avail.
If my pipes burst due to freezing, are they liable in any way?

You should have been warned in advance when they were going to be doing the work. If you did and you were not in on the day concerned their stance is likely to be 'tough luck' you should have been in.
