Copying tracks to mp3 player

I tried the other to put tracks from my cds on to my mp3 player, some cds worked fine then some of the song titles werent recognised(it wouldnt show the title) and so it would just say track 1 and so couldnt have more than 1 track called track 1
can anyone offer any advise

copy to your hard drive and then rename them prior to loading to your mp3 player0

Could be the Tags, right click on one of the MP3's go to properties then summary then advacned button half way down (assuming WinXP) see if the inforamtion in there about track title etc is correct.0
