thank you.
having done a quick google on "Maestro Card" i didnt actually find a site dedicated to it, like Visa/Mastercard.
so how can i find out which organisations issue a Maestro?
i could make good use of one of these cards but was wondering where i could get one?0 -

The maestro is just anouther name for a switch type card. Which all banks have.
What could you possibley be getting up to with anouther card? hmmmm0 -
Glass_Half_Empty?? wrote:Well I tried that with HSBC as they offered me a solo card 2 years ago but when I went in to open the account they said they couldn't confirm my identity(not on ER and "fraud team unable to trace me even though I had several forms of ID inc passport, DL and bills etc) and they wouldn't touch me for a basic cash card account!
If I go to Lloyds and ask them to upgrade and they say no will it hamper my chances of going to Natwest and getting one?
Not being on ER can be a major problem in credit scoring which they will need to do for card.
Are you on now, and if not, can you get registered?Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -

Morning glass half empty, just a thought, but if you are with Lloyds,do you not do internet banking? you can pay bills via the internet without the need for a card.
I know it must be frustrating to not have a card, but IMO it's probably the best way to stop overspending.Debt at highest £102k

Oh that does sound pants then!
Just another suggestion then,We are with firstdirect,we have a maestro card and now have a terrible credit record, they might be worth a go.
It's really hard without a card isn't it,I remember trying to book a ferry crossing, maestro wasn't accepted and we had to ask a friend to use their card, when we turned up we couldn't board as the name of the payer was different to ours? What do they expect people to do? I can understand not allowing a credit card, but a debit card is your money and you can't spend what's not there.
