Radiator panels really do seem to work

if foil is a metal and it still gets hot through absorbing radiation, then it is perhaps not truly efficient as a heat reflector
The wall behimd my radiators used to get very warm, after fitting card behind the radiators the card would get warm but the wall behind would only be slightly warmed. Since gluing silver foil to the card the surface of the foil is cold to the touch and the wall behind is cold. I was sceptical about foil making a difference but it seems to work.0 -
Hi - just saw a programme on Ideal WOrld shopping channel selling RADFLEK - enough toughtened foil to go behind 10 radiators and cost £20 + £5 p&p.
Just been googling and there are other methods and similar foil items for sale.
The Rafleck seemed good as it had plastic fittings and took approx 2 mins per radiator to do and only needed scissors - should last for 60yrs!
Reading about people putting cardboard behind radiators - is this a fire risk?
Have heard of people using ordinary foil but not tried it myself.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0
