Advice Please

Hi there

I bought duvet cover & pillowcases ages ago and then never used them (changed mind on decor) but I did take them out the packing and ironed them to see how they looked.

I listed these as new but did not say in packing and sold them tonight, I got them out of my linen box to post tomorrow and they are really crushed, do you think I should iron them or will that make them look used ?

I have ironed stuff that has been advertised as new without any problems. If you have stuff in the wardrobe with tags on for a few weeks/months then they do tend to look a bit crinkly when you take them out. I have ironed stuff that has been advertised as new without any problems. I'm sure they do it in clothes shops (although they have them jet steam iron things nowadays)(???)
If you do, make sure that you iron on the reverse or better still over a towel so to avoid any damage caused by the iron which would be awful.
Personally I think it the buyer might have more to grumble about if the stuff is crushed as you say.
  • If you've already ironed them anyway then it's not going to do any harm. You might find it quicker to hang them up in a steamy bathroom or put them in the tumble dryer with something damp for a few minutes to see if that will unwrinkle them satisfactorily. Remember that textiles often get a bit crushed in the post anyway, so your buyer won't expect them to be perfectly smooth, but if they're still very badly crumpled after steaming then you might be better to resort to ironing.
