Im currently on prepaid gas and electric with british gas and for a three storey three bed house. Cant grumble with british gas customer service, i lost my gas card recently they didnt charge me for it and sent two `incase`.
I think im paying quite high price, £70 elec and around £100 gas a month. After trecking in the snow with four children today for gas decided i want to swop....
How do i go about finding who is cheapest for dual fuel? How easy is a switch over?

A lot of companies now charge for changing the meters over so I would see if you can approach a company who will be willing to do this for free as part of their gains process.I would you suggest you get this in writing though as it can be heard for companies to not honour their promises.
Again is best to check ont the price comparison sites for prices. It would take 4-6 weeks for any changeover to another supplier and a timescale of 10 working days at quickest to get an exchange of meter
Hope this helps0 -
British Gas don't charge so the best bet for now is to switch with BG, move onto one of their cheap tariffs and then move to a cheaper one.0

I agree. British Gas changed mine and then I moved on to another supplier.
You do know also that you can get a gizmo so that you can load money onto the card via your computer don't you? That is if you want to stay with the card.0 -

They made an appointment to come and change the meters which was ten days after I'd asked. Due to the weather you'll probably have to wait longer and they may not even make an appointment until the weather has settled but give them a call tomorrow and ask.
Edit: Two sets of twins.. oh my god! You must be kept busy.0
