When the house is transferred into your names you can buy or sell one another out, i did this with my sister when things turned sour.

so why is it taking so long to transfer your names as owners? it seems an awfully long time to me for a relatively simple matter.
oh and in my aunts will she left the house four ways - to her sisters and to a charity, it didnt specify it should be sold but while waiting for probate the house was put on the market anyway! the will DOESNT have to specify selling hun! unless you and sis couldnt agree on that!
You sure that solicitor is qualified?

Go back and read the reply in the other thread, that's been answered already.

    It doesn't have to.

    Thanks for your help.

I am in tears here. How can someone who is supposed to be your blood be so wicked.

Honey, you are not the only one. I have seen families rent asunder by arguments over money and property. People never behave the way you expect and it comes as something of a shock.

Try and deal with the practical aspects of this without emotion, very difficult though that may be.

It's hard enough to lose family without all this, keeping calm and objective will help you sort this out and keep your sanity.

    So sorry for your loss.

I think you need to focus on why its taking so long to do an apparently simple probating transaction.

I have self administered two estates now and one involved probate application.

Both were all done and dusted in less than a couple of months.

Maybe you need to change solicitors...?

When it has been probated, how will the house be held?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Probate has been sorted now. There were some complications and thats why it took so long. Cant say anymore unfortunately.
