How long you have to stay with Santander after receiving £100 to switch?...

Hi,
In summer I switched to Santander because of the £100 offer they had on. I happily received my £100 after 3 months like they stated.

My old bank has now offered me a ''local branch only offer'' offering me another £100 to switch back. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was anything keeping my tied to Santander? I have looked in t+c but can't see anything, but you know what it's like theres so much to read!

Thanks

There's no tie in with Santander.

Who's your old bank with the £100 offer?

No tie in with Santander. Must use the account transfer service and £100 will credit within 3 months of your first £1000 turnover in the account. Normally within one month to be honest. It appears as an 'incentive payment'

You need to pay in £1000 for three months. Once this is done the £100 will be credited and you can freely switch to another bank. :D

    Received my £100 today after 2 x £1000+ deposits (October,November).

Total time 54 days from 1st deposit.

Very pleased with them DD`s went through smoothly,
only small bit of hassle was getting them to pay interest gross, which has now been sorted going to stick with them to get the 5% intrest
    on £2500.

I did not close my old Lloyds acc so can put
a couple of small DD`s into it and "switch" to first direct or another for another £100 incentive.
  • We opened Santander accounts for this offer. We set up our own direct debits rather than use their account switching service as we've had huge problems in the past switching banks. We have been told we do not qualify for the £100.

You don't. You have to use their switching service to qualify. That was one of the main conditions of the offer
Debt free and staying that way!
