lcd tv mount or stand options

I have a problem.

Planning on getting either a 24",26" or 32" lcd its going into the spare room to sit above my computer desk, so when iam online or working;) i can watch footie etc without upsetting the women of the house too much:A

I was slightly worried as the walls are all brick and very solid (old house) so ive been told it might be difficult to mount the tv to a wall. I have looked on the internet/ebay etc for a floor stand but would need to be quite tall to go above my desk (roughly 55 inches)

Any help, advise, suggestions offers of coming round and doing the drilling:rotfl: are all very welcome!!

  • I would suggest mounting a peice of wood to the wall then mounting tv bracket to the wood. With your walls being solid I would say this 9is to your advantage, much safer being mounted to a solid brick wall as opposed to a plastered wall.

had a quick look online at wall mounts and found
    this.

PS They have other types of mounts on that site and it seems they all have install guides.
You can check the guides for the size of screws matched to the size of screen you get.

I would suggest you look for what type of bracket you want then see if you
can get a look at the mounting instructions to see if suitable.

Go to B&Q or Homebase where the wood cutting takes place, they always have lots of off-cuts you could have for free. Plywood would suit.
