netbook question?

I've been searching for the best price for an acer aspire one d260 netbook. Most are now bringing up the d255. I've had a look at the specs, but there doesn't appear to be much difference. Can any of the techie gurus please advise on the difference/which is better?

To be honest they're very similar spec-wise. I'd go with the D255 as it has better reviews online for aesthetics and build quality. You may have to upgrade the RAM to 2GB if you plan on doing anything like playing HD films.
If it's for you and you don't mind second-hand, I'd consider checking ebay for a quality second hand or refurbished laptop rather than a netbook if you'll be using it day-to-day. Laptops are just much more durable. But if it's just for word processing and checking emails etc, there's nothing wrong with the netbook.0 -
The easiest way to find the difference between two netbooks would be to type the two models into a search engine. Try these search terms, for example: "acer aspire one" d260 d266.
In the results, you can see an article on the PC Advisor website that says, "There's nothing new in the Acer Aspire One D255 netbook compared to its 10-inch predecessors - Acer Aspire One 532h and Acer Aspire One D260 - in terms of hardware, but it comes with Google Android 1.6 dual-booting with Windows 7 Starter Edition."
Hope that helps...0 -
thanks folks for your views. I'm happy with a netbook,as I've got my desktop for everyday use. I went for the D255 in the end. I've just gone through the initial set up and now thinking whats the best way to create a recovery "disc" seeing as they dont have DVD drives built in.My £2 savings total for 2007 = £92, for 2008 = £124
