RYAN AIR CHARGES TO RISE.Allowance to Fall.

Might have been posted elswhere, please move or my apologies.

In the trade press this week,it is reported.

Ryan Air will introduce priority boarding for customers who pay a fee, from next week, and ending the service for people travelling with children.

Priority boarding already exists for those checkins on line, but they will extend this to passengers checkin at airport for a £2 fee.

On top of the £7 checkin baggage,it is cutting hold allowance from 20kg to 15kg,and charge £5.50p for each kilo or part of over the 15kg.

Therefore turning up at the airport with 20kg,which most airlines would accept without charge, you will face a £27.50 excess baggage fee,as well as the £7 charge for checkin.(£34.50)

A reduced baggage fee of £3.50 per item can be booked online, but you cannot checkin online with hold baggage.

WARNING: If you do checkin online, and then arrive with luggage that breaks Ryanair's hand luggage limit(size and weight)you will face a £13.50 charge for new boarding card, plus £7 airport checkin fee, plus any overweight charge.

Oh and dont forget possible Strikes in Spain,6/13/20th November.

you can't blame ryanair for trying this scam to get more money...its the travelling publics fault they are desperate to get on first, push, shove, jump the queue, stand in a queue for 45 mins, anything is worth it to get on first

ryanair can see the desperation in the punters faces...why not fleece them!
  • We booked our October flights to Poland back in July and it was shown on the website then that Ryanair were going to be reducing the hold baggage allowancce aswell as putting up the 'checked baggage fee'. I have also heard between booking and flying re the baggage allowances.

Whilst I agree that it is ridiculous that the allowance is being reduced I always check airline flight websites prior to flying out on any service to check the allowances etc so IMO if those who have flown out on holiday and are coming back after the allowances have been reduced then they should not have been so blinkered and found these things out before they went!
