Sky remote problems

I have just started having problems using my sky remote downstairs. Initially thought it needed new batteries, but that isn't the problem. The only function that seems to work is the volume.

We also have the sky keypad, which also does not work the sky downstairs.

The strange thing is that if I use both controls upstairs (I have AV sender sending sky to my bedroom) then they work.

I have looked on the sky website but cannot find anything that helps.

Has anyone come across this problem before or can anyone suggest anything that might help.

Thanks.

  • Just to clarify - when you point you remote control directly at the sky box it works fine, but when you ttry and operate it via the AV sender only the volume works. If this is the case it sounds like the AV sender isn't sending the signals correctly.

Has it previously worked with the sender and now does not, or is the AV sender a new addition to your set up. I think people seem to have a lot of problems with AV senders, if you have had it less than a year I would suggest trying to return it and asking any helpful people here if they know of a reliable one that works with Sky.

call sky up and get them to fix it
  • Have you tried unplugging the Sky box from the mains and then replugging it back in? Maybe it just needs resetting.

    Worth a try
