No key for lock?

I can't find the door key for my back door! I am assuming I will need to get a locksmith out, but before I do, wondered if there's anything chjeaper I can do myself to get the door open and replace the lock?!

It's a Chubb lock, rather than a Yale type.

  • Hi,

think back, did you lock it from inside or outside, if inside, then keys will likely be in the house somewhere, if outside, then maybe lying in the garden.

Have a cup of coffee and try these tips,

    Prof. Solomon.

No, it was the previous owner that locked it, then gave us the keys. There was definitely a backdoor key there, but has since been lost somewhere - probably in our rental property somewhere!
