Not sure what the current deal is, but I have just come to the end of a 3 month interest free period. As they are about to whack the interest up to 11.9% they are getting the cash back - all but £1 to keep the account open in case I am absolutely desparate - and to cost them in admin of course.0

The account remains open indefinitely even with a zero balance. Mine has been zero for about 18 months with no problems. I would withdraw the last £1 if I were youMortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
