  • I use either haricot, pinto or even chickpeas. I hate kidney beans :)

Delia Smith recomends black eye beans and I second it!. You can get 3 tins for £1 at Sainsbury's if the offer's still on.... :)
  • Try washing the tomato sauce of ordinary baked beans in a seive. My kids won't eat kidney beans, but they seem to like (ie don't moan about) washed baked beans

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.
  • I often use pinto, haricot or cannelini beans or Sainsbury's mixed pulses (all from cans)
Haricot beans, I think, are what baked beans are made from, so they might be a good choice. Or cannelini beans as they are white (so maybe more appetising to those who don't like kidney beans?)

Replacing kidney beans? How about hot, wet cardboard?

I'd vote for butter beans, although surprised that anyone doesn't like kidney beans - in a standard chilli, they only taste crunchy...
  • Im not a fan of them, so when i make it i just dont add any in!!!

I just use whatever beans I have in the house. You could just leave them out, but I like the texture of having some in.

I think in that case, they may be a bit undercooked!:)
