Yes, only one one resolution is b&w, sorry can't remember what one it is, basically whatever one fits a 40" tv perfectly lol.The flip side of sanity is the game.0

oh that is interesting so the pc worked fine with tv all that time then one day bang it went black and white?
well then yes the problem most likely has nothing to do with the tv/settings etc...oops
do you remember anythign that conincide with the problem e.g you just done a windows update or driver update? or perhaps you installed a new piece of software?0 -
Nothing at all out of the ordinary that I can think of, not even a windows update as I was shutting down or anything.Giant_Space_Lizard wrote: »oh that is interesting so the pc worked fine with tv all that time then one day bang it went black and white?

awwww it must be drivin you mad
lets hope it is not a hardware failure of some sort.
Out of curiosity do you manually update windows or just leave it to do it automatically? if might be worth trying a rollback of your nivida drivers0 -
Automatic. I know I'm blonde and all so could you possibly advise on how to rollback the drivers?
Would it be done using the nvidia control panel, or are you referring to a rollback of windows, i.e. to an old restore point. The flip side of sanity is the game.0 -

hehheh actually it is better to go auto really but sometime it update stuff that is fine already (not saying that is case in this instance but just in general)
the latest nvidia drivers are version 260.99
they were released 25th october
you can check if you have latest by going to nvidia control panel click help at the top then system information
if you dont have 260.99 then its worth updating to see if it helps with colour.
you can get the latest 260.99 here
http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk
To roll back you could either go to control panel/device manager/display adapter/where it say 9600gt right click properties then select driver tab. It will have option to roll back driver but it might be greyed out. if it is you can do it manually.
Go here assuming you have 32bit vista download
http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-Forceware-260.89-Win-7-|-Vista-32-bit-download-2625.html
uninstall the current ones and then install these ones.
!!!!!btw if you do try this, when you actually uninstall the drivers it is worth trying out the pc with tv to see if colour come back, then it would be clear that the problem is gpu driver issue!!!!
phew
