Morrisons cafe

I took my daughter for lunch at Morrisons today before we did a shop. The cafe was appalling. No trays because they were piled on tables and had not been cleared. Every table had left over food /plates etc. None had been wiped. In the kitchen itself piles of trays with half eaten food lay on the floor. There was a 25 minute wait for most hot meals so we had sandwiches and chips. I also asked for a clean tray and wiped table. The actual food was nice - no sign of food poisioning yet
I was disgusted and complained to the manager. He apologised and said it was always the same at peak weekend times. Being a good mse'r, I asked for a full refund. He agreed and told me to collect it from customer services. The lady at customer services told me anyone who asked was getting a full refund. Probably not the most desirable free lunch, but handy if you are shopping at a busy time.

They made us wait 40 minutes the other day for our meals and I complained...Didn't get offered any refund...and 2 days later We were shopping there one evening and a member of their staff came out from behind a plastic curtain with a pallet truck filled to the brim..it was so heavy he couldn't stop it when he ran over my daughters foot!..she fell to the ground screaming and it turns out that the employee should not of been dragging the pallet truck through the store!...I have been asked to go into the store tomorrow to help fill in the details in the accident book...any tips anyone?.....
thanksDistant fields will always look greener.
Yet, golden opportunities are all around you0 -
go to a soliciter, tell morrisons that you are. dont take their first offer

thanks
i know nothing about law and such, but if this were me i would contact a solicitor BEFORE any more contact with Morrisons. i would NOT go to the store tomorrow.
i would have also taken my daughter to the hospital for a checkup.
why days later do they want you to "help with the accident report?" surely as a mtter of law this should have been recorded at the time?
good luck and hope your daughter is well.0 -
Big claimcoming your way and why not? they were negligent
and they know that hence pls come and let us bribe you with some great freebies and special offers
speak to solicitor first or regret it forever0 -
If your daughter went to hospital in an ambulance straight from the accident she would be in for a few bob but as you walked out the store you may get a measly free meal or some vouchers etc0

Tell the truth. The whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Because you will get caught out otherwise. And unless your daughter has been permanently injured,or broke something, don't expect a cash payout.
Don't go in there screaming, and talking about solicitors and compensation. Explain what happened. Listen to what the store manager has to say and offer you. Then tell him that you are not satisfied, and want to take it further. Then take it up with head office and see what they had to say.
Pointing out that the shop is unsafe for children and you and other parents will have to go elsewhere will probably get more attention that demanding compo.0 -
Don't start spending any compensation yet - I got a badly bruised and grazed finger nail after a customer pushed opened a swing door as I took hold of the pull handle and my finger got smashed into a protruding screw in the wall at a leisure centre - £250 for a throbbing finger for a week, leaving me unable to care for my 6 month old baby. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

We always have a problem in our local Morrisons and have stopped using them after they told me (for about the third time) that they couldn't exchange fried egg for scrambed egg because they had run out
I asked if they knew how to make scrambled eggs!MFIT No. 810 -
Only eaten in Morrisons cafes twice - both times they were grim, just like OP says, uncleaned tables, long wait. They are cheap, but I didn't think the food was as nice as Sainsburys or Tesco cafe. Good luck for today, Sindy.0
