Leased Car Repairs
Hi
I'm looking for some advice on how to deal with a situation that's arisen with with leased car, it's a personal lease, without a maintenance contract.
Recently a fault has developed and because it's leased i am required to take the car to a recognised dealership to have the fault diagnosed to see if is covered under warranty.
This would be fine normally but having called two local dealerships they cannot take the car until next Wednesday at the earliest. This is a problem as i have to make a 500 mile round-trip on Wednesday to pick up a relative, Christmas presents etc.
I've also contacted the customer services of the car maker and the lease hire co to see what can be done about getting a replacement car but each is suggesting it one of the others problem and is washing their hand of the problem.
I am now in a position of being compelled to have a repair diagnosed by an official dealership that cannot be done in my required time-scale, meanwhile I'm still paying my monthly lease payment for a defective car.
Surely if i am required to use the dealership they must prioritise my diagnosis given my lack of alternatives or provide a replacement car until they can carry out their diagnosis!!
anyone has any ideas on what i can do next? Or is Christmas cancelled!!
Thanks.

Why not just hire a car? £20 tops for a day.0

Most dealers have a lead time of a few days to a week as standard. Essentially what you are asking for is to jump the queue.
What is the problem with your car and will the problem prevent you from driving it?The man without a signature.0 -

Problem is that the turbo injection is not working, so not really suitable for motorway driving.0 -

OK. Sounds like your only choice is to rent a car. There are often good deals around at this time of year with businesses shut down for Christmas etc. My local Ford dealer is advertising 6 days hire over Xmas for the price of 4 days. The man without a signature.0
