Totally depends on the size; mine is 8.4kgs and I will be getting it out on Wednesday morning.

Size and place of defrosting . Is the area of the house ( garage ) colder this year.
Room temp might be colder than normal.
If worried , start defrosting earlier.0 -
Just don't take it in the bath with you like the Royle Family. :rotfl:0

Take it out on the tuesday, if there are still ice crystals by xmas eve morning, put in bucket of cold water then pat dry when ice srystals have thawed. Ive done this for years, and always been ok.0

I haven't even bought mine yet. We'll probably have a frozen one so would I buy it Tuesday or Wednesday evening on my way home from work?
I'd defrost in the conservatory, it's pretty cold in there, and I have one of those polystyrene meat boxes to keep it in so it'll defrost slowly and the dogs can't get at it.
Oh, I forgot to say I'll be cooking it on Christamas Day.

It all depends on your fridge, i defrost mine on the kitchen bench on a towel. It would take ages in the fridge, and there's no room in there anyway!!0
